Finding your Waitlist
To find the waitlist for your courses:
- Log into the Employee Self Service area with your Douglas College credentials and click on Faculty Services.
- Click on Class List.
- Under Subject, click on class number.
- Click on Wait List.
Week One of the semester
During the first week of classes, the system will automatically offer available seats in your course based on the waitlist priority. This is no different than what the system does before the start of the semester. Instructors should not make any manual changes unless you want to increase the capacity of your course.
If you have waitlisted students who attend during the first week and don’t end up getting a seat during that first week, there is a possibility of adding them during the second week of classes.
Week Two of the semester (Late Registration)
If you want to add students after the first week, you can create a late registration override for them. Note: students don’t need to be on the waitlist to receive a late registration override. In fact, students will not be able to join a waitlist during this period.
- Log into the Employee Self Service area with your Douglas College credentials and click on Faculty Services.
- Click on Registration Overrides.
- Under Term, click on Select and choose the current semester.
- Under Student or Advisee ID, put in the ID number of the student and click on Submit.
- The student should appear under the title Student and Advisee Selection. Click on the ID number of the student.
- A Registration Overrides page appears. Under Override, click on Select and then choose Late Registration Override.
- Under Course, click on Select and then choose the course section before clicking on Submit.
- The students will NOT receive any notification that you have done this. You will need to then notify the student that they will be able to register for the class.
Note: During the Late Registration period, the Enrolment Counts will look different.
- The Maximum number of seats will be set to zero. This will prevent students from registering for a course even if it has open seats. It will also prevent them from entering the waitlist if the course is full.
- The Actual will represent the number of students registered in your class
- The Remaining will list a negative number. This is because the system just calculates the basic math: (maximum – actual = remaining).
Please be aware of your maximum enrolment numbers before late registration. It is the instructor’s responsibility to monitor enrolment numbers as/if they decide to provide Late Registration Overrides to students.

This is what the student will need to do to register for that class.
- The student needs to log into MyAccount with their Douglas College credentials.
- Once logged in, the student can check the Prepare for Registration page to verify that the Late Registration Override was entered for the course.
- Click on Registration and then Registration and Schedule.
- Click on Register for Classes and make sure it has the current term listed before clicking on Continue.
- If the student is not on the waitlist, they can add the course by entering the CRN or finding the course and registering as usual.
- Under Summary in the bottom-right corner of the screen, they should see your course listed as Waitlisted. Under Action, the click on None and choose **Registered** before clicking on Submit.
NOTE: The override will expire after 24 hours. If the student misses this window, a new override will need to be entered.
After Late Registration
After the 14th calendar day of the semester (after the Late Registration period) students can only add a course using an Add Form that must be signed by the instructor. Late Registration override will no longer work.
